PROJECT
OBJECTIVES
As of 2024, Cincinnati had more than 500 brownfields in redevelopment. This provides an opportunity for waste delivery and management. My project aims to design a vehicle for the year 2040 that can navigate inside a building and vacuum debris to prepare the site for land redevelopment.
Not just Cincinnati, a polluted environment is a global issue. Therefore, brownfield redevelopment is a vital component in creating a cleaner world.
Preliminary Sketches
My initial direction was to create a blocky, minimal form design to combine with dynamic sci-fi graphics. That is, I planned to use only primitive forms to create an interesting composition.
MORE REFINEMENTS
As I found the general design that I liked, I then proceed to refine it more by considering different factors, such as the disposal box, the control panels, and the seat as a variant to the standing design.
At one point, I was dissatisfied with the blocky design. So I decided to push the design as dramatically as I could.
3d BLOCKOUT & ITERATIONS
I created a 3D version of the final sketch, with corrections on some surfaces. Then, I did various iterations to find out the best design and proportions.
